Fighting Acne: A Dermatologist-Recommended Skincare Routine

Acne can be frustrating, but with the right nighttime skincare routine, you can effectively manage breakouts and achieve clearer skin.

I have been facing this issue for almost a year now, and I have worked on this for about 6 months, and there has been no change. But I came across this dermat, and the routine he suggested has helped my face a lot.

Here's the routine suggested by my dermatologist to combat acne:

1. Acutret 20mg Soft Gelatin Capsule (Nightly): Take one Acutret capsule after dinner. Acutret is a retinoid medication known for its effectiveness in treating acne by reducing oil production, unclogging pores, and promoting cell turnover.

2. Facelin Face Wash (Twice Daily): Start by gently cleansing your face with Facelin Face Wash. This step is crucial to remove excess oil, dirt, and makeup that can clog pores and worsen acne.

3. Excela Moisturiser 50g (Twice Daily): After cleansing and applying any treatments, moisturise your face with Excela Moisturiser. Keeping your skin hydrated is essential, even for oily skin, as it helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and prevent excessive oil production.

4. Cream Melalumin Ultra (Twice Daily): Apply Cream Melalumin Ultra to any inflamed or irritated areas on your face. This cream can help reduce redness, inflammation, and discomfort associated with acne breakouts.

5. Acne UV SPF 50 Gel (Twice Daily): Don't forget to apply Acne UV SPF 50 Gel both morning and night. Sun protection is crucial for all skin types, especially when using acne medications like retinoids, which can increase sun sensitivity.

6. Deriva C MS 15gm Gel (Alternate Nights): Apply Deriva C MS 15gm Gel to your face on alternate nights. This vitamin C serum can help brighten the skin, reduce hyperpigmentation caused by acne scars, and boost collagen production.

Important Considerations:

Remember that consistency is key to achieving the best results with this routine. Always follow your dermatologist's specific instructions and adjust the regimen as needed based on your individual skin's response. Be patient, as it may take several weeks or even months to see significant improvement in your acne. Finally, avoid picking at your pimples, as this can worsen scarring and increase the risk of infection.

Remember, everyone's skin is different. This routine provides a framework for managing acne, but it's essential to work with a qualified dermatologist to create a personalised treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and concerns.
