BUILDING OUR MENTAL RESILIENCE

"Does it even seems like he couldn't clear the exam he had been preparing for all his life? He looks happy!"

"That woman from next door? She lost her only job a few months back and looks fine as if nothing happened."

You're often surprised when people keep their chill in an ongoing crisis, right? You expect them to have come undone in such circumstances. However, they show us a completely different side of them.

How?

1. Prioritise your Relationships

Psychologists tell us that social support is very important for psychological well-being. The more you connect with someone, the less they feel left out.

When people have someone to talk to, they don't bottle up things or kill themselves slowly on the inside. So we should just connect with everyone, especially the people who care about us. Spending time with our family over lunch and catching up with those long-lost friends reflect a sense of happiness and joy.

2. Focus on Self-Care

Self-care helps you discover your worth, it improves your self-esteem and it boosts your emotional as well as physical health. Having a proper diet, getting the required amount of sleep, taking breaks from social media, exercising help you keep all the negativity away. It helps you to keep yourself busy and far away from the judgments.

3. Find a Reason

The more positivity we have around us, the more our life is worth. We should take an initiative and move ahead in our life while focusing on our future.

In case you don't clear an interview, spend everyday working on your resume and developing other skills that would help to clear the next one.

4. Seeking Help from an Expert

Building your mental health is not an individual effort, it requires teamwork. Everyone has friends and family, but they don't always help you out with your problems. They don't always become the support you need in life. But that is not to be worried about as there are professionals everywhere who are always ready to help, and there is absolutely no shame in doing so.

Apart from all this, you will always have that one person in your life who would make all your problems go away and give you peace at the end of the day. Do not let these people, who make your life and mental health better, go away from you. Because in the end, you have them to keep you at peace.

XOXO,

Sanch.
