KUCH TOH LOG KAHENGE, LOGO KA KAAM HAI KEHNA....
Before I start with this topic, I just have a simple question for you. How many times did you think before uploading the last picture on your instagram account?
We always crave for company, don't we? Be it in school, college, neighborhood, family, almost everywhere. You stand in front of the mirror and take hours to decide on what to wear. Why do you do that? Why do you think that if you wear something entirely simple and don't apply make-up, people will make fun of you? You probably think they'd say, "She doesn't have makeup" or "She's not fashionable". Why does all of this bother you?
Well this is a modern world, and everyone here wants to be accepted, but that is just making each and everyone of us more judgmental. We fear comments and judgments. Our decisions are totally based on "log kya kahenge". Whereas, we should be the ones to decide what we want to do.
In a lot of instagram bio's, I've seen people writing "don't care", but how many of you actually feel that way? I read somewhere, "Log kya kahenge has killed more dreams than anything in this world", and I couldn't agree more. We become careful in everything we do, from drinking water to the career option we choose.
How many of you fear the society more than your parents before introducing your boyfriend/girlfriend to them? It's not like you're ashamed of them or something, you are just bothered about what will the society think, even when you don't who half of them are.
Even I used to think like this for a long time. But eventually, time changed and I realized that it is important for me to accept me for who I am. I don't care if I don't take science, I want commerce and I will choose that. I don't wanna wear make-up all the time, I will when I feel like, because I feel comfortable in my pyjamas and oily hair. I will wear short pants even if I'm eighteen 'cause these neighbors won't come to cheer me up if something goes wrong with me.
So wear that short dress, wear your night suits in the day time, apply lipsticks or don't, get married to the person you love no matter what caste or religion he/she belongs to, wear heels or shoes, take a gap year. Do everything and anything you want to because 40 years from now, if you'll look back, you'll just regret and think what if I had married him/her, what if I had taken arts instead of science, what if I had pursued photography and not engineering, HOW DIFFERENT MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN?
There are a lot of times when we don't even try things we want to, you know why. Well, stop that! Let me take my own example. It's been about a week that I've started blogging, and a lot of people are questioning my decision. I knew this would happen because before I even started this, I knew that criticism is there, and is very important for us, because if we don't learn how to deal with criticism, we'd never grow and change. But other than that, people are appreciating me too. A lot of friends tell me that it's a great initiative and I'm talented and what not. And that's so good to hear.
Have you heard, "Ek din gaaliyon ka shor, taaliyon ki goonj mein chup jayega", and this will happen, with me, with you, with everybody. Just never lose hope and think about yourself before you think about anybody else. Don't let people push you into choices.
Don't let your dreams, just be dreams! Kyunki Kuch toh Log Kahenge, Par Kuch Hi Toh Kahenge naah?
XOXO,
Sanch.
