COOKING IN QUARANTINE
Hey guys, I hope you all are safe and unlike me, doing something productive and good instead of playing Ludo and watching TV Series all day long. Although, there is for sure one thing I did that I'm proud of.
Cooking to me is enjoyable. Well, you should give it a try too. It's very common for our moms to shout on us for doing absolutely nothing and sitting idle all day. But what would be her reaction if you suddenly cook something for her, or your family? Even if it's for yourself, that's okay! This is most easy thing to do while at home, you get to learn something, you really do.
Of course you need recipes for it, well, there are plenty available on the internet.
So it's been almost two months since the lockdown started, and I've managed to make seventeen great dishes which includes street food, milkshakes, Indian and Italian dishes, etc.
1. PAV BHAJI
This is every Indian's favorite. You literally cannot keep your hands off it. Ofc, I made it with my mom's help. I added butter and coriander on top of the bhaji to give it a delicious look.
2. IDLI SAMBHAR
This is a South-Indian dish and it is very easy to make it. You won't have to put more than an hour for it. You can literally make it anytime.
3. CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE WITH VANILLA ICE-CREAM
Just a ten-minute job. The most easy thing to make for your breakfast, it literally fills you up. Even if you do not eat anything else with it, you won't need to for 1-2 hours more.
4. DAL MAKHANI AND NAAN
Who does not like dal makhani? Every single person, I guess! So just to make it look good, I added butter on top of the dal. The naan are a bit burnt but they tasted good.
5. UTTAPAM AND SAMBHAR
South Indian dishes are my favorite, and that's why I keep eating them. This is another one, the sambhar is the same one I used with the idli's. The uttapam is fresh, filled with onion, tomato, capsicum and what not.
6. SHAHI PANEER WITH CHAPATI AND CORIANDER CHUTNEY
Paneer is a tasty and protein-filled food. Shahi paneer is really easy to make, and you can have it with anything you like. The coriander chutney is also not a big job, it's basically just mixing.
7. MACRONI AND PASTA
Boiling and adding spices and veggies, what could be more fun? It's the stirring which irritates though. It might consume a lot of time but it's really worth it. You can have it for breakfast or as a snack. It tastes the best anytime you have it.
8. PANI PURI
This is my second-favorite street food (the first one is number 11). It took a lot of time to make the puri's but it was, indeed, very easy. The masala for the pani is easily available at any store near you. To fill inside, just add potato with spices. It was delicious!
9. CHAAT WITH GOL GAPPE
These are the same puri's which I used for pani puri, but these are the one's which went flat. So they could be used to make a chat. Just added chutney's and masala's on top, and it was done.

10. KADHAI PANEER
As I said in number 6, Paneer. Kadhai paneer is not much of a work and you can very easily cook it and have it without anything also. The veggies and masala's should be perfect.
11. PANEER MOMOS WITH CHUTNEY AND MAYO
The world's famous and most loved street food, my favorite. It took me four long hours to make these, but I was not upset with the result. The shape of the momos isn't perfect and that is because I'm not a professional. The stuffing and covering takes a lot of time. The chutney was quite easy to make, you can make it spicy according to your own taste.
12. CHOCOLATE CAKE
I couldn't make it perfect with dressing and everything, and tbh it was hard. Just remember to add a lot of milk to keep it soft. Although, it was still edible. The best thing about this cake is that, you can keep it for another 3-4 days in a fridge and it'll be fine.
13. CHILLI POTATO
So this looks easy but it was a task for me. The spring onion on top is just for decoration and it took me ages to organize it. First take all the veggies, then cut them, and mix them, add sauces and what not. Give at least two hours for this thing, because it tastes amazing in the end.
14. OREO SHAKE
Oreo shake is one of the most simple shakes you can make. It does not take more than ten minutes. Take oreos and milk, mix them and add crush oreos on top. It's very very simple. You can make them anytime you feel like. In fact, you can make them with any biscuit you have.
15. STRAWBERRY SHAKE
I made it too sweet, but remember you don't need to add sugar if you're using the syrup. It is also very easy and can be made in under ten minutes, you just need the right ingredients.
16. BURGER WITH COKE
Okay so the burger was quite a task! The ingredients to be put require a lot of hard work, but it tastes very good at the end. Enjoy it with a coke.
17. PIZZA
The most delicious and amazing dish I've made so far is this. It takes up a lot of your time but it is actually really worth it.
You're drooling, right? Ofc, you are! Now go and try these on your own. Don't lose hope on your first attempt, like me. Happy Cooking!
XOXO,
Sanch.
